One Water Lahaina (OWL)

Brief Description:

One Water Lahaina is a County of Maui program led by the Office of Recovery to advance resilient water stewardship from mauka to makai. One Water Lahaina is grounded in community priorities, cultural values, One Water principles and the Lahaina Long-Term Recovery Plan.

Milestones:

2025: Project kickoff and workplan development.
2026: Stakeholder interviews and visioning; Strategy development.
2026-2027: County interviews and workshops, visioning and strategy development related to the six County Capabilities.
Ongoing: Over the next year, under the One Water Lahaina program, a Vision and Action Plan will be developed to continually advance County capabilities in six areas critical to a resilient water future. The six areas include: Leadership and Capacity, Integrated Planning, Sustainable Funding, Regulatory Strategy, Community Partnership and Data-Informed Decision-Making. The Vision and Action Plan will integrate community priorities building upon the Long-Term Recovery Plan community input.
