Infrastructure Assessment and Improvement Studies
Project Description
The project includes various analyses that take a holistic view of the current infrastructure in place and evaluate future infrastructure needs in and around the impact area, ultimately identifying improvements necessary to implement the community’s vision for recovery. These assessments and studies will also evaluate the development and redevelopment opportunities of county-owned land in Lahaina to support decision making and will include an assessment of the impacts of sea level rise on various rebuilding scenarios. Based on the findings of the site analyses and potential redevelopment opportunities, land use modifications may be identified (e.g. zone changes). These efforts will build on goals, policies and implementation actions identified in the 2022 West Maui Community Plan. The individual studies will include roadways, drainage, water, sewer, electrical and telecommunication systems.
