In the wake of Tropical Storm Lala, County of Maui Department of Environmental Management (DEM) Environmental Protection & Sustainability Division and Maui Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) are announcing options to dispose of green waste. The definition of green waste is: organic plant material from yards, landscaping or storm cleanup, such as tree branches, leaves, grass clippings, brush, shrubs and other vegetation. SELF-HAUL

  • Central Maui Landfill, 1 Pūlehu Road, Puʻunēnē
  • Hawaii Organics Compost facility, Kuihelani and Honoapiilani highways, Waikapū

COUNTY HAULING

  • Thirty-yard roll-off bins for green waste hauling by County DEM on a first come, first served basis for Maui residents
  • For accessible properties only since the container and truck need ample space for drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Each bin may remain onsite for a maximum of seven days, so please request one only for the days you plan to use or fill it
  • Only one bin may be requested at a time
  • To request County DEM hauling, call (808) 270-7631
