Overview

Federal disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is available to help individuals and households recover from the impacts of the Kona Low storms that occurred March 10–24, 2026.

The deadline to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance and SBA physical damage loans has passed (June 14, 2026).

The deadline to apply for SBA economic injury loans (available for impacted businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and nonprofits) is Jan. 7, 2027.

Following the Presidential disaster declaration for the March 10–24, 2026 Kona Low storms, additional federal assistance is now available to support recovery across Maui County. Through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), businesses, nonprofits, homeowners, and renters may be eligible for low-interest disaster loans to help repair physical damage and address ongoing financial impacts.

Key deadline includes January 7, 2027 for economic injury assistance.
