Lahaina traffic signal upgrades will temporarily impact traffic late Feb. 21 until early Feb. 22
Upgrades to the Lahaina traffic signal at the intersection of Keawe and Kupuohi streets will briefly impact traffic starting around 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, through approximately 4 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, according to the County of Maui Department of Public Works.
During the work, signals will not be operational, and the department encourages motorists to exercise caution, to expect delays and to follow instructions from onsite, temporary traffic control staff. The roadway will remain open.
The existing traffic signal system is rented and will be switched to a county-owned system, along with installations that will improve pedestrian accommodations and timing, the department said.
